today is an amazing day I always say it’s the day I love my job for most it’s important to us to provide opportunity for students from all backgrounds it come to GW and experience what it’s like to be a member of our community for them to develop their talents and skills and go on to change the world I’m student up on the President George Washington versioning and I’m delighted to congratulate you on being selected to receive a Stephen Joel trachtenberg full college scholarships for an education after George Washington versus wow this is the best day we have every year we get to go to one school after another and surprise students in the classroom it’s the great I think they’ve all been surprised so everybody kept the secret and what’s really wonderful to see is how not just the students own reaction but all their fellow students who really go wild when
this is now and the awardee is Charlene it means a lot like I can actually achieve my dream of becoming a lawyer without like oh my gosh I felt church question rather like wow I got her I’m so having on my family well I’m the first one with heavens gonna go to college so we’re very very excited my mom’s going to be crazy today her birthday is on Friday so it’s gonna be a nice birthday gift for her as well it’s motivation for me to continue on my education and it can be motivated to my let’s say siblings sticking to their its casing out son I am so blessed I am so overwhelmed I am oh gosh I’m in shock I am so I am so done before I just want to say that you know I just think that he sets an example for all the kids in the district of columbia you know no matter where you come from that if you really put you know fourth hard hard work that it will really pay off it means i can stay in DC and continue building on the connections that i’ve already made and
I could stay close to my family so it’s great it’s really great I’m most looking forward to being a leader and actually taking part in what it means to get the scholarship and I really don’t know I want have up to that name Joe really yeah the most thrilling moment of my life for like you know we’ve been working towards this for 17 years and the day’s finally here and I cannot imagine a way to find out that you got accepted to a school in the school like GW has everything he wants and to be in DC and have all the internship opportunities and it’s just it’s a perfect blend of everything you wanted immediately I got a floor at the college I can’t wait to go to GW and make my GW I’m so thankful and I am very grateful that I won’t have to pay for it and she will be able to chase her dream everything sounds like six I wanted to be a doctor and recently I found that I wanted to be an orthopedic surgeon so GW should help me with that very soon I’m so happy you
